Well, of course, I am a Christian Nationalist. I have been one almost my entire life. I grew up in the black Church. We’re all Christian Nationalists in the black Church. Didn’t you know?
In 2020, this black Christian Nationalist made, possibly, the best Presidential campaign commercial of all time.
In fact, there is a black Christian man running for President of the United States right now. He may not be your craft brew of choice, but Dr. Cornel West is certainly a Christian Nationalist. Won’t you support him?
Dr. West is opposed to the United States funding the Ukraine-Russia war. He wants to break up the tech monopolies, stop Goliath equity firms from controlling the real estate market, rescind the deceptively named Inflation Reduction Act, dismantle the U.S. empire, disband NATO, and ban stock trading for government officials. Don’t you?
Oh, yeah. He’s a Marxist. Is that a problem? Does Christian Nationalism preclude one being a Marxist? Or a Monarchist? Can Libertarians be Christian Nationalists? What I’m asking is this: Is Christian Nationalism a religious movement or a political movement? Dr. West wants to nationalize the oil and gas industries along with the healthcare industry. It doesn’t get more nationalistic than that but I sense he cannot count on the support of the Christian Nationalists I’ve been reading lately.
Dr. West’s grandfather was a pastor. I have heard Dr. West publicly profess to be a Christian. I don’t have any way of saying he is not a Christian. What’s that now? You say his bad theology - specifically Liberation Theology - disqualifies him.
Hmmm.
Hmmmmmmm.
